VISUAL PHENOMENA Fine Art and Design

Established in 1986 as a sole proprietorship, VISUAL PHENOMENA Fine Art and Design is the vehicle by which Jeffrey Pergament "dances in public." Completing undergraduate work at Rutgers University and at Stockton College, Jeffrey graduated with honors in December, 1974 and received secondary school teacher certification for art and special education in New Jersey and in Florida. Published in 1976 in the NAEA Journal on the necessity of the arts in our public school curriculum, Jeffrey was appointed in August, 1977 as Administrator of Cultural and Heritage Affairs for the County of Atlantic, NJ and resigned with international recognition for his public service accomplishments in April, 1986, to create a special services consulting firm.

In 2004, Jeffrey received a small grant award and national recognition as a disabled entrepreneur to launch another business venture, DESIGN SOLUTIONS by Jeffrey Pergament, to focus on arhcitectural adaptive re-use of existing sites and structures and specialized design services for diversified residential, commercial, retail and hospitality industry clients. Utilizing the World Wide Web, Jeffrey can provide global service and exposure.

My current works on canvas are depicted on this web site. I am under consideration for FY2008 Fellowship support and designed a site-specific multi-media exhibit installation for the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, as a competition element for disabled artists.

VISUAL PHENOMENA has been Jeffrey's passion for 20 years. His private collection spans a lifetime and works are available for purchase directly from the artist. There are a few pieces dating to 1974, when Jeffrey was a member of a 3-person show with Pablo Piccaso and Salvador Dali - his first major professional exhibit.

Since then, Jeffrey's works have been acquired privately and are in public collections as well as in design aspects from the resorts of New Jersey to Key West, Florida. Many exterior and interior murals have been executed and a variety of interior food and beverage design projects have been accomplished.

Currently, Jeffrey has proposed a radical shift in building usage for a mall property in Southern New Jersey and for a multi-aspect venue near Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia, PA.
